History
The professional roadmen society was founded in 1934 under the title “Road Society”. After the World War II the society was incorporated into the Czechoslovak Scientific and Technical Societies Association (ČSVTS). The Road Society legal subjectivity was restored by the memorandum approved in 1990. In relation to the new society title, i. e. The Czech Road Society (ČSS), the memorandum was adapted in 1999. In 2015, with regards to the new Civil Act validity, the society has accepted the new official title “The Czech Road Society, r. c.“.
Mission
The Czech Road Society, r. c. is a voluntary, professional and independent corporation of engineers, technicians, students, workmen and other road specialists covering territories of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. In the first place, their mission is to create room for discussion as well as application and implementation of scientific knowledge in practice and up-to-date trends at inland and abroad pursuing.
International Cooperation
The Society collaborates effectively and frequently with other foreign professional societies, namely with those based in Slovakia and neighbouring European countries. The Society is equally one of the long-standing members of the World Road Association (PIARC).
