IMechE has been a leading supporter of FISITA for many years and continues to help in its development and overall aims.  Because IMechE is an active international organisation with a strong 'Automobile Division' it is able to bring considerable weight to its engagement with FISITA. 

Especially through its authority in setting and managing professional qualifications, IMechE helps its members, academia, the automotive industry and intermediary agencies operate in both a UK and global framework.  It positively supports FISITA as the principal means by which international collaboration is achieved - through membership of its governance and its specialist committees, promotion of FISITA's technical, educational and business aims, and by exceptional measures when these are appropriate.  As a leading 'learned society' it shares with FISITA the aim of informing governments, their agents, industry and the wider public of the technological, environmental and business choices to be made now and in the future.
