Harald Abendroth received his Dipl.Ing. in vehicle engineering at the technical universities Berlin and Aachen. 

He has worked for more than 45 years in the brake industry in leading positions and as a consultant. 

He developed several test systems, some of them becoming global standards. He authored numerous publications at international conferences. 

He acted for ten years as chair of the ISO working group “Brake Linings and Friction Couples”. 

After passing the EuroBrake chair position over to Jan Münchhoff, he is expected to remain an active member of the Steering Committee for some time.
