Abstract
This Output Paper presents the highlights of the Groupe Renault-hosted FISITA Member Forum on smart cities and smart mobility.
Defining a smart city requires consideration of different concepts for the city, including space, city planning, and the needs and expectations of its citizens.
Smart mobility generally involves the use of technology to enable transport that is faster, cleaner, and more efficient than existing solutions, sometimes using new and shared micromobility offerings such as electric scooters and bicycles, with app-based payment.
At the heart of both smart concepts lies a combination of factors which, if carefully coordinated, will increase energy efficiency, minimise consumption, waste and overall cost, reduce congestion and travel time, cut emissions and pollution, and benefit commercial stakeholders and the wider community.

Abstract
A follow-up to the highly successful FISITA membership collaboration that resulted in the Mobility Engineer 2030 White Paper, which reviewed the education requirements for the future of mobility engineering. The logical next step is to consider how engineering as a whole also needs to change, as the industry evolves – and what those changes will be, and how the industry will need to adapt. This has led to the development of the Mobility Engineering 2030 White Paper.
Due to the volume of contributions received; and the breadth of those contributions, it has been decided that rather than one paper, there will be three – each focussing on areas of important consideration within this broad and critical subject.
Part 1, which is an overview providing an outline of the Engineering 2030 topic and contains contributions from the ‘Mobility Engineering Questionnaire’ conducted with FISITA Corporate Members as a key element of this project of this project, in 2019. The feedback is significant and includes results from the FISITA Academic Advisory Board, Technical Committee, Industry Committees and the outcomes of independent, collaborative workshops held across four countries in Asia and Europe. It also has contributions from the German Metalworkers' Union, Munich University of Applied Sciences and from Competivation Consulting in Germany.
Part two will deep-dive into IT related aspects of mobility engineering, such as connectivity and AV, because this is clearly an area of significant and substantial change (compared to traditional car design). The third part will focus on the working life, because there will be no Engineering 2030 without engineers that are committed to this profession. Part two and part three are scheduled for development and release from 2021.

Abstract
The FISITA Intelligent Safety White paper is a snapshot in time, a consensus of “how we design intelligent safety” for features from L1 to L3 and L4. It is authored by safety experts within the FISITA membership community, who are responsible for the continuous improvement of safety, thanks to a never-ending appropriation of new technologies and harmonized by standards and regulations.
FISITA shares these views and deliver insights via this initial paper in order to create a 360° contribution and view from around the industry and its stakeholders.
