Marko Weirich studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern. In 1997 he started his career at Daimler with his Diploma Thesis followed by a PhD Thesis in the advanced engineering of passenger cars.
After joining a 2 year trainee program he was promoted to a Manager for Medium Duty Truck Engines. From 2013 to 2018 he was responsible as senior manager for the Thermodynamic Development of the new Medium Duty Truck Engine platform. Since 2018 he works in the CAE area.
His current responsibility includes the simulation of various vehicle functions including Brake Systems, Vehicle Dynamics, Driver Assistance Systems and Powertrain Integration. In addition, his team provides Advanced Analytics & Big Data solutions for all R&D departments at Daimler Trucks. He is the system responsible engineer for Brake Systems and Endurance Brake Systems of Mercedes-Benz Trucks.
