After his diploma degree in electrical engineering and information technology (specializing in automation technology) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2001 Matthäus Englbrecht started working for Knorr-Bremse Systeme für Schienenfahrzeuge GmbH in Munich and held several positions since then. From 2010-2012 Mr. Englbrecht has been Deputy Managing Director of Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems Korea Ltd.

Since 2018 he holds the position as Vice President Global Brake Systems being responsible for both the development of innovative brake systems as well as customer project specific application engineering.
