Phillip studied Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University, Germany and École Centrale de Marseille ECM, France. He then received his PhD in the field of ultra-precision five axes (grinding) machines at RWTH Aachen University.
Phillip started his career in 2004 as a Project Engineer at DBT Ltd. In 2005 he became Group Manager Precision and Special Purpose Machines at Fraunhofer-Institute for Production Technology IPT. After 5 years he moved onto Head of Business Unit Superfinishing Nagel Maschinen- at Werkzeugfabrik GmbH. In 2014 he became Managing Director (Chairman) Buderus Schleiftechnik GmbH (DVS Technology Group). In 2018 Phillip became a co-founder of deep tech companies in the field of hybrid manufacturing and digitization; (empowerment of) entrepreneurship in “development aid countries”. Since 2020 Phillip has been Managing Director HPL Technologies GmbH based in Aachen.
Phillip has delivered more than 70 conference presentations, publications & patents filed and granted in the field of automotive and hybrid manufacturing and digitization.
