The 34th FISITA World Automotive Congress took place in Beijing, China, between 27-30 Novemeber 2012. CSAE had last hosted the Congress in 1994, a time when most vehicle production in the country was devoted to larger goods vehicles. Following economic reforms, China's automotive production scaled to become one of the world's largest centres for vehicle production.


The Congress Programme covered 12 main topics, each of which demonstrates the vital role of engineers worldwide in solving the transportation challenges of the day and of the future:
