Hans-Jörg Feigel studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University in Germany. He successfully completed a subsequent doctorate in this field in 1991.

Feigel began his professional career in 1991 at ITT Automotive Europe[1] in Frankfurt, Germany, in pre-development for suspension control systems. Between 1992 and 1998, he was responsible for advanced engineering in the area of new anti-lock braking and actuation systems. Feigel then headed the worldwide development organization in the field of actuation systems until 2003. This period also saw the establishment of a new development location in the Czech Republic and the introduction of new product innovations such as the mechanical brake assist.

This was followed by positions in the field of brake systems at Continental as head of Development Hydraulics and Mechanics (2003 – 2008), Head of System Development (2008 – 2010) and Head of Development Integrated Brake Systems (2011 – 2015). Under his responsibility, the MK C1, the world's first integrated brake system for the automotive sector, was developed and put into series production.

In October 2015, Feigel moved to Mando Corporation in South Korea. There he drove the globalization of innovative products such as integrated brake systems and actuators for highly automated driving. In April 2018, Feigel returned to Germany and became head of Research & Development in Europe at Mando before serving as general manager of Mando Europe from 2019 to 2021.

On September 1, 2021, Feigel returned to Continental as head of the Strategy and Future Solutions central function and member of the management board of the Safety and Motion business area. In his role, he reports to Matthias Matic, head of the Safety and Motion business area and member of Continental's Automotive Board.
