Correlation Between Friction Performance and Tribolayer Formation using Engineered Mineral Fibres

Name: Neomy Zaquen

Company: Lapinus

Presentation Title: Correlation Between Friction Performance and Tribolayer Formation using Engineered Mineral Fibres (EB2020-MDS-003)

Session: Innovative Raw Materials, Friday 21st May 2021, 09:00 - 10:40 (Central European Summer Time - CEST)

What do you find most interesting about the topic of your presentation?

Only by looking at the fundamental level, you can understand the test results. That is what is interesting about this work.

When discussing this topic with industry peers, what question are you most frequently asked? How do you answer it?

How relevant is the work you show here? In this work we showed some preliminary results of how mineral fibres can contribute to reducing particle wear. In a follow-up studies more commercial formulations as well as other mineral fibres are tested to verify the results we see here.

Who do you think will be most interested in your presentation, and who would you most like to ask questions about it?

Most interesting in this work is the fact that there is a correlation to be seen between friction performance and the transfer / tribolayer formed at the surface of the disc and brake pad respectively. This understanding puts the performance data in a different perspective.

What specific topics or technology are you hoping to see in other presentations or in the exhibition?

In general, I hope the Eurobrake will bring me more insight into where the market is going. We as Lapinus always try to follow trends in the market to see how our mineral fibres can contribute to these trends.
