The organisers of the 32nd FISITA World Automotive Congress, to be held in Munich, Germany, from 14-19 September 2008, have issued a Call for Papers, encouraging the world’s leading engineers, scientists and automotive experts to take part in the programme for this prestigious global event. Abstracts should be submitted online at the congress website no later than 26 October 2007.
Hosted by the Association of German Engineers (VDI) FISITA 2008 will take place at the International Congress Centre Munich (ICM), a state-of-the-art venue in the heart of one of Germany’s leading automotive engineering regions. More than 50 different topics will be discussed during the four day programme, reflecting the vital role of engineers worldwide in solving the current and future transportation challenges facing society.
Under the chairmanship of Dr Michael Paul, Executive Vice President, ZF Friedrichshafen AG, the Congress will address 12 key themes: mobility concepts; man-machine interaction; electronics; future powertrain solutions; vehicle concepts; vehicle safety; virtual reality; simulation and testing; resources and ecology; process challenges in changing economies; chassis development for cars, trucks and buses, and body design for cars, trucks and buses.
“FISITA 2008 is an unmissable opportunity for engineers from industry and academia to present their latest technical developments to a global audience of high-level automotive engineers and executives,” said Dr Paul. “The FISITA Congress always attracts a high quality audience from all parts of the world and every sector of the industry. Anyone involved with the research, development, design or manufacture of vehicles – including components, systems and fuels – will benefit from being a part of FISITA 2008.”
FISITA Chief Executive, Ian Dickie added, “More than 900 engineers from 39 countries submitted abstracts for FISITA 2006. The technical standard was extremely high and we expect the competition for presentation slots will be even more intense this time.”
A major exhibition will run in parallel with the Congress, showcasing a wide range of innovative, forward-looking technologies. Confirmed exhibitors already include:
